The Ladies Series (Pastels)
I have always enjoyed painting the figure, usually from a model. This time, however, my idea was to see how many Ladies I could create in pastel, each on a sanded substrate, each approximately the same size, and yet make each one unique in their demeanor, without a model. At the same time, I was playing with color and line, while being limited to a small square or rectangle.
